Marianne Shivers

Project Analyst

Marianne Shivers' background in energy and the environment will enhance the Good Company efforts in the areas of demand response and renewable energy.

Prior to joining Good Company, Shivers worked most recently in early stage wind project development for Venti Energy, an Austin-based renewable energy company.  She also worked at the Austin Clean Energy Incubator where she coordinated the Korean Electric Power Corporation’s executive education program on clean energy and the American electric power industry.

As part of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s consulting team, Shivers worked with community stakeholders to develop the Village of Wimberley’s 130-acre Blue Hole Regional Park Conceptual Master Plan, which balanced environmental protection with community needs for recreational and infrastructure development.

Shivers completed her Master’s in Energy and Mineral Resources from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 and wrote her thesis on the potential of distributed solar generation within Texas.  Her other academic research focused on electricity challenges and opportunities within Texas from political, economic, environmental, and resource-based perspectives including: combined heating and power, demand-side management, distributed generation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.

Since receiving her B.A. in Biological Structure and Design, Art and Architecture from Duke University in 2002, she has also worked as an intern at Austin Energy, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the Smithsonian Institution.
