ERCOT appointed a committee Chair and Vice Chair for a new ERCOT Energy Storage Working Group. The Chair will come from NextEra, and Praveen Kathpal of AES, one of our TESA members, was designated Vice Chair. A date was not yet set for the group's first meeting, although that is expected soon.

Greg Ewing

Greg Ewing serves as Good Company’s resident expert in the Smart Grid and Smart Building market segments.  As a Project Manager in this space, he leads clients’ business and technical initiatives to grow market share, execute on corporate development, or improve strategic positioning in policy and in business.  Greg has applied his experience as an electrical engineer and a product manager toward solving problems within these emerging markets.  He is involved with a variety of organizations at both the regional and national level to develop standards and establish best practices for the Smart Grid and Smart Building segments.  He also has the responsibility of determining the central Texas Smart Grid and Smart Building workforce needs for the Texas Workforce Commission.  Greg is a board member of the Peak Load Management Alliance.

Since joining Good Company Associates in January of 2009, Greg has also used his MBA and project management and problem solving skills to drive the development of renewable energy applications.  Greg has provided input on both the regulatory and industry fronts to help define the economic model for geothermal power production, and lead project tasks in geothermal project development.  Greg also has some solar and algae-biomass project experience.

Greg Ewing joined Good Company Associates with over 10 years of international engineering and market development experience, with particular expertise in the digital communications and semiconductor industries.  Prior to joining Good Company, Greg lived in Europe and worked as a market analyst within an array of industries, such as mobile electronics, consumer finance and fast moving consumer goods.  Greg has worked with a wide range of companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms, and has been primarily focused on early-stage company development for the last four years.  He has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, which manifests itself in all aspects of his personal and professional life.

Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
