Kiel Dolence

Kiel provides analysis and support to our clients on issues revolving around government and utility energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.  Kiel joins Good Company after working for SRA, International as an on-site consultant to the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) for the past two years.  Kiel worked as a Senior Clean Energy Analyst in EERE’s Strategic Programs and Impact Analysis team with a focus on legislative affairs.  Kiel was responsible for briefing senior management and Congressional staffers on all EERE programs, technical comments on pending legislation and hearing preparation.  Kiel brings a wealth of institutional knowledge of the federal government and its programs to Good Company.

As an analyst for the EERE’s Commercialization and Innovation team, Kiel was responsible for administering the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act’s Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit (48C), a $2.3 billion tax credit awarded to 183 projects in 43 states across all clean technologies.  Also when with the Commercialization team, Kiel worked on the Technology Commercialization Fund and the Energy Innovation Portal.  Both experiences gave Kiel an eye to breakthrough technologies in the energy efficiency and renewable energy markets.

Prior to his time with the Department of Energy, Kiel held extremely competitive internships with both the United States Court of Appeals working on legal research and with the General Federation of Trade Unions in London working to better understand international economics.

Kiel received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech.
