Energy Efficiency
The cleanest and often most cost-effective means of meeting the expanding energy needs of businesses, residences and developing communities is energy efficiency. Good Company Associates has been involved in the development of energy efficiency related public policy since our inception in 1990, but our experience goes back to the earliest program developments of the 1970s. We have been particularly involved in the adoption and evolution of policy on utility efficiency programs, efficiency in local and state government buildings, and performance contracting.
Our expert team has evaluated demand response markets for an international services company and several retail electric providers; market potential studies of energy efficiency for utilities; market pricing for new technologies; and green job opportunities for the state. We helped several companies capitalize on available incentives, grants, and funding opportunities.
Our involvement in energy efficiency policy advocacy today includes representation of Efficiency Texas, a statewide coalition of building owners, operators, and consumer groups with the single, focused purpose of expanding the availability of and funding for open energy efficiency programs administered by Texas’s investor-owned electric utilities. Coalition members include Texas Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Texas Retailers Association, Texas Restaurant Association, Texas Hotel and Lodging Association, and Texas Impact
What We Can Do for You
We assist utilities or retail electric providers considering or evaluating options for efficiency, load management, demand response, or renewable energy programs for their customers. We can help service or product providers identify markets, meet clients or close deals. We can help new companies develop strategic marketing plans. We can help new technology companies identify additional sources of funds. We provide government affairs support at the local and state level. We can help create a positive legal and regulatory environment for new and emerging technology or service offerings through legislative or regulatory intervention.
