Renewable Energy
Good Company Associates possesses years of experience with renewable energy issues and has been integrally involved in Texas renewable energy policy since the early 1990s. We represented the Texas Renewable Energy Coalition for two legislative sessions and helped in the development of electric utility restructuring legislation at the wholesale and retail level. We also played a key role in creating the state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) in 1999, which mandates the development of renewable energy in Texas.
Good Company is also active in developing power projects across the nation for a number of its renewable energy clients. In terms of project development, Good Company helps build relationships, facilitates discussions, acts as a liaison to all levels of government, assists in public outreach and at times helps secure project capital and power purchase agreements. In fact, Good Company serves as a project development consultant for what is expected to be the first commercially-operational, licensed hydrokinetic power project in the United States. Good Company is also working to bring coastal geothermal plants to the Lone Star State.
Our wind energy development experience includes a key development function in Texas’s first commercial wind farm in the mid-1990s to ongoing support to developers during the boom from 1999 through 2005. And, we coordinated the effort that brought the new Texas National Large Wind Turbine Research & Testing Facility to Ingleside, Texas, which will provide a new boost to the U.S. wind industry and help facilitate the development of offshore wind power projects in Texas. From policy development in the Legislatures to working on projects in the field, you can count on Good Company’s deep renewable energy experience to deliver results.
